Dr. Moinfar grew up in Northern Virginia. He completed his undergraduate studies in philosophy and biology at Georgetown University and obtained his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Moinfar returned to Georgetown University, where he completed his internship and residency at Georgetown University Medical Center and met his wife of 20 years, Brenda. Following residency, Dr. Moinfar completed fellowship training in the medical and surgical retina and uveitis at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute of the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Moinfar also holds a degree of Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. Upon completion of his fellowship training, Dr. Moinfar and his wife settled in Central Florida, where they have lived for 21 years and have three boys. Dr. Moinfar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
