Dr. Okun grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and after graduating from college in New Hampshire, he returned to St. Louis for his medical training.  He has been in private retinal practice in Central Florida since 1991, and is a past Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Florida Hospital in Orlando.  He joined the Eye Specialists of Mid-Florida in 2008.  Dr. Okun has been happily married to Joni since 1984, and his son and daughter are currently college students.  A disc jockey in his college days, Dr. Okun’s nonprofessional interests include music, art and travel.
